English Curriculum -
Success For All (S.F.A)
At Sunkids, we are the first kindergarten in Hong Kong to use the SFA kindergarten program as our English curriculum.

Success For All is an academic program originated from the Johns Hopkins University, one of the most renowned medical universities in the world. The Success For All (SFA) program is designed to educate children from kindergarten level to middle school level. The SFA program was developed in 1987 and has been used in different school districts throughout the United States. The SFA program has been proven to show success in the many research studies done since 1993.

The Founders The founders of the SFA program are Dr. Robert Slavin and Dr. Nancy A. Madden. Robert Slavin, Ph.D, is the Chairman of the Success for All Foundation and Co-Director of the Center for Research on the Education of Students Placed at Risk at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Slavin is, with Nancy Madden, the driving force behind Success for All’s creation and ongoing research. He is the author or co-author of 21 books and more than 200 articles on topics such as cooperative learning, school organization, and effective programs for students at risk. Nancy A. Madden, Ph.D, is the President of the Success for All Foundation and co-creator of Success for All. With Robert Slavin, Dr. Madden leads the continual development of the Success for All Foundation’s curricula, training model, and organization. She is the author or co-author of three books and more than 100 articles.

Chinese Curriculum
Local Kindergarten program in Putonghua

Our Putonghua training starts with our sunkiddies spending 15 minutes immersed in an interactive Putonghua learning environment. As children’s Putonghua knowledge progresses, the instruction time increases until the Putonghua instruction occupies half of the curriculum in K2 and K3.

Our curriculum consists of Cantonese AND Putonghua language on alternative days.
Math Curriculum
Play Math / Eye Level Math
In order to provide our children with left and right brain development, a daily 15 minute Eye Level Math lesson and a 10 minute Play Math training are added as an extra curriculum segment in the classroom.

Founded by the largest education organization in Korea, Daekyo, Eye Level Math, a research based math program developed by the State University of New York in the United States, is proven to improve students’ Math skills, logical reasoning ability and interest in Math. This unique program, filled with fun activities, comics, colorful worksheets and interesting learning tools, is specially designed for children between ages 2-14. The critical thinking elements allow students to acquire not only valuable problem solving and reasoning skills, but also spatial recognition and intuitive insight
